International Mail Art Show Announced

REDLANDS, CA -- June 8, 1998 (CSLF) -- Announcing the Oxbridge '98 Mail Art Show at Oxford and Cambridge Universities this summer in England. We invite submissions under the theme, "Loose in the Fire."

This unique Mail-Art exhibit will be held July 19 through August 1, during Oxbridge '98, the International Centennial Celebration of the birth of the British author, C.S. Lewis. Oxbridge '98 is a program of the C.S. Lewis Summer Institute. The exhibit will also appear in an U.S. traveling show, taking place Fall, 1998.

A Royal Mail Launch of a commemorative stamp honoring Lewis is planned at this time. The show will feature international mailable art displaying the commemorative postmark as part of the compositions.

Response to the C.S. Lewis Summer Institute's Cambridge 1994 Mail Art Show drew impressive 187 submissions. An increased volume of entries is eagerly anticipated this year, due to the excitement being generated by this centennial occasion.
