Karen,

I'm so sorry I didn't see this comment until today, close to 2 years later! No doubt your daughter is already in a fine acting program. Would you mind catching me up at my e-mail address, ccematson AT gmail DOT com, if you see this? Let me know if you have any other questions at this stage. Unfortunately, the C.S. Lewis Foundation blog doesn't have a way to subscribe to a post's comments that I can see, so I never saw this comment before now.

And thanks for your welcome! Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Cole

P.S. - I stayed with the monks at Benedictine College for a couple nights this summer. I really enjoyed their hospitality, and Benedictine is high on my list of colleges to apply to for a teaching position once I finish my PhD. Go Ravens!

Cole,
I thought your reflections were excellent, and actually printed them out for my daughter, who is 17 and a junior, and seriously considering majoring in Theater Arts in college. I'm curious, why did you mention Benedictine College in Kansas, and where did you get your information about them? My son is a freshman there, and while I knew they had a theater program, I didn't know it was highly acclaimed (?) I would be very interested in more details about their program. I am also interested in C.S. Lewis College for my daughter, though it doesn't sound like it will open until Fall of 2012. My daughter thinks she needs to go to a big East Coast school like NYU to be taken seriously as an actress. What are your thoughts on that? Please respond when you have the chance. And thanks again for your excellent and thoughtful comments!
PS - Welcome to the Church! We are also converts to Catholicism!
