A scholar at the University of Otago, New Zealand, has just found a lost transcript of a TV interview with C.S. Lewis.

According to the article in the Otago Times, Dr. Paul Tankard, a senior lecturer in the Otago English department, first learned about the interview – produced by British theatre critic and producer Kenneth Tynan (a former student of Lewis) – when he came across a reference to it several years ago.

After spending some time tracking it down, Dr. Tankard was able to obtain a copy of the interview transcript.

The interview, “never broadcast because of censorship restrictions,” was on the topic of the erotic in literature. Articles about the discovery will soon be published in the Times Literary Supplement and the Journal of Inkling Studies.

    Hi Andries,

That is not actually in an interview, rather it comes from his writing. It can be found at the end of Chapter 3 in Mere Christianity.

    Hope this helps.
