Summer 2006

C.S. Lewis Summer Institute July 7-16th 2006
Williams College, Williamstown, MA

Chapel

Come this July, the C.S. Lewis Summer Institute will be making its very first appearance in  North America. Since its initial convening in Oxford in the summer of 1988, the Institute has emerged as one of the signal gatherings of Christians and seekers from many walks of life and a wide range of Christian traditions.

Well over 2000 alumni and six major triennial Oxbridge Summer Institutes later, we are encouraged to respond to numerous requests to “bring it stateside” for the benefit of those who have not been able to journey to the British Isles. The result: a well planned offering of diverse experiences in the Oxbridge tradition, combining solid teaching with ample time for rest and reflection, meaningful opportunities for rich worship and a veritable royal feast of the visual and performing arts.

Group

In the spirit of C.S. Lewis, and aided by insights offered by gifted speakers from the arts, humanities, sciences, and social sciences, we will consider the many ways in which contemporary life, for all of its turmoil and dislocation, can lead to meaningful encounters of “love among the ruins,” both in its brokenness as well as in its healing and redemptive aspects.

Come join us for a truly memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience on the beautiful and historic New England campus of Williams College, nestled amid the scenic Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts! You’ll enjoy stimulating lectures, challenging workshops, meaningful worship services and a rich variety of cultural programs, all in the good company of friends and colleagues – both old and new. You’ll be very glad you did.

See you in New England!
