The Cove

"The Cove", Asheville, NCThe C. S. Lewis Foundation Southeast Regional Retreat will be held at "The Cove" just outside Asheville, North Carolina, in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains. Nestled on 1,500 beautiful acres, The Cove offers a quiet place of respite away from the pressing distractions of a busy world. This beautifully landscaped and spaciously designed retreat center was birthed from a “God-given vision of Billy and Ruth Graham to provide a special place where people could come and experience God and His Word in a way that would transform their lives.”

In addition to its unusually beautiful facilities, well-appointed room accommodations, and excellent dining, The Cove offers other opportunities for discovery, enjoyment and recreation including its fine network of woodland trails and proximity to nearby attractions which are readily accessible and easily visited either en-route to or from The Cove, or during the scheduled free time on Saturday afternoon. These include:

George Vanderbilt’s Biltmore House, a magnificent 250-room château filled with priceless art and antiques. Stroll through century-old gardens designed by America’s first landscape architect. Savor award-winning wines and taste its chefs’ creations using estate-raised foods. Over an extended stay, one can enjoy over 8,000 acres of forests, farmlands, and rivers on bike and/or horseback, and rafts. 1-800-543-2961

Blue Ridge Parkway and Folk Art Center
Within minutes of The Cove lies one of America's most scenic driving routes, the Blue Ridge Parkway, which follows the Blue Ridge Mountains from Virginia to the Great Smoky Mountains. Of particular interest on this route is The Folk Art Center, located but five minutes from The Cove on the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 382. It has long been a part of the very fiber of the mountains and features one-of-a-kind, handmade crafts that are both on exhibit and for sale. Feature Story 828-298-7928

Have you ever wanted to put everything on hold and retreat to a place where you can renew, refresh and reprioritize your life? Just as Jesus found it necessary to get away from the crowds and go into the mountains for solitude and prayer, each of us can benefit from some time away in a quiet place where we can meet with God and discover the deeper truths of His Word. The Cove is just such a place.
