If
you're looking for an enriching and restful weekend in the company of seekers
and Christians of many traditions who share an interest in the life and
legacy of C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, this is the conference for you.
In the intimate woodland setting of Camp Allen Retreat and Conference Center, learn more about how Lewis and Tolkien wrestled with their times and ultimately created great works of fiction, apologetics, and other writings on spirituality that continue to speak to us today in wonderful and winsome ways.
Nestled in a beautiful 900-acre setting, this retreat will offer insightful and engaging speakers, meaningful worship, dramatic performances, and delightful and relaxed fellowship, along with opportunities for solitude, woodland walks, shared readings, music-making and great dining experiences. Canoeing, hiking, horseback riding and other outdoor activities will also be available.
Nationally
recognized lecturers, Louis Markos and Joseph
Pearce, are the featured speakers for the weekend. Other special delights
include an evening of unforgettable theater featuring one of Atlanta’s
leading actors, Tom Key, in an intimate one-man
performance of C.S. Lewis on Stage. Music and other forms of artistic
expression will also be featured throughout the weekend, concluding with
a service of worship with retired Bishop William
Frey preaching.
The weekend promises a rich feast for the heart, mind, and imagination.
Come join us as we visit with Lewis and his good friend, Tolkien, to consider
just how we might better live out their rich legacy of vibrant Christian
faith in our own time and place.
What to bring: A hunger for truth,
curiosity, honest questions, a desire for meaningful fellowship, and a healthy
appreciation for the simple value of rest and recreation. If this describes
you, why then just “Bring yourself!”
