Children's Program (Ages 7-12)

"Sailing the Dawn Treader: Learning from Lucy, Edmund, and Eustace"

Directed by Andrew Lazo

For the sixth annual Children’s Track at Camp Allen, we’ll shift our focus from Prince Caspian to The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, currently in production as the next movie in The Chronicles of Narnia series.  You’ll will find a familiar format—lots of in-class reading aloud of the book, focusing on practical lessons on what it means to believe in Aslan and act like it.  We’ll have memory verses, guest artists, creative activities based on the book—in fact, we’ll even let YOU be the director of the next Narnia movie, selecting a scene and making up how you think it should work.  We’ll also learn more about what it means to recognize Aslan in our everyday lives.

On top of “Sailing The Dawn Treader,” you’ll enjoy all of the activities that Camp Allen has to offer – including crafts, nature walks, and optional activities like canoeing and horseback riding.  So get a copy of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, READ IT, and make your plans now to join us on Halloween weekend!  Oh yeah—there might well be some candy involved, especially if you wanna dress up as your favorite Narnian—anyone have a really good Reepicheep outfit in the back of their wardrobe?!?

See you there!

* NOTE TO PARENTS: Children's Track includes teaching on The Voyage of the Dawn TreaderPlease plan to have your child read the book in advance and bring a copy to the retreat .
