June 24 - 27, 2004 at USD!

Come ‘further up and further in’ – Explore the deep and well-worn paths of the fantastic worlds created by Inklings C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. Is it possible that talking animals, dwarves, magic rings and wardrobes, the mere creations of imagination, provide a window into what we consider true and relevant in the “real”, and what some are calling, post postmodern world?

Join this Gathering of seekers, scholars, artists and Christians of all traditions to discover how the imagination and creativity of two authors can contribute to our ideas of culture, art and truth.

Engage in a series of lectures by renowned Lewis and Tolkien scholars, Peter Kreeft, Jerry Root, Joseph Pearce, and Paul Ford, joined by poet Luci Shaw, Nigel Goodwin and Ben Patterson. Further program features include a speaker’s panel, discussion groups, dramatic and musical performances, worship, and great fellowship on the beautiful mission-style, ocean-view campus of the University of San Diego!
