Beginning your preparations for Thanksgiving?\u00a0 Are you planning to make mouthwatering delights for you and your family?\u00a0 Looking for recipes?<\/p>\n
You are in luck! Just in time for the holidays, we’ve gone into the recipe collection from our cook at The Kilns, Debbie Haney, and are pleased to post her recipe for an Apple Crisp.<\/p>\n
3-4 large cooking apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced<\/p>\n
2\/3 cup brown sugar<\/p>\n
1 teaspoon cinnamon<\/p>\n
2 tablespoons flour<\/p>\n
1 (6 oz.) carton apple juice<\/p>\n
1 tablespoon lemon juice<\/p>\n
Grease an 8-inch square pan.\u00a0 Mix apples and rest of ingredients in a bowl.\u00a0 Pour into the pan.<\/p>\n
While preparing topping, bake in 350\u00ba oven for 20 minutes until apples begin to soften.\u00a0 Stir filling once during baking.<\/p>\n
Topping:<\/strong><\/p>\n 1 cup quick cooking oatmeal<\/p>\n \u00bd cup whole wheat flour (can use white flour)<\/p>\n \u00bd cup brown sugar<\/p>\n 1 teaspoon cinnamon<\/p>\n \u00bd cup (4 oz.) butter, melted<\/p>\n Mix oatmeal, flour, brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.\u00a0 Add melted butter and stir to combine.\u00a0 Sprinkle topping over apples and continue baking 15-20 minutes until topping is brown and apples are tender.<\/p>\n Enjoy!
