A variety of C.S. Lewis themed plays are circulating around the United States in the next month.\u00a0 Two of them are adaptations of his books, while another is a dramatization of a fictional encounter between C.S. Lewis and Sigmund Freud.<\/p>\n

The Screwtape Letters<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Screwtape Letters<\/em>, <\/strong>based on C.S. Lewis’s famous novel, and with Max McLean starring as Screwtape, has been playing for some time now around the United States, and has garnered rave reviews from virtually everyone.\u00a0 It has been praised by The New York Times<\/em> and The Wall Street Journal<\/em>, among many others.\u00a0 There will be performances of the play in several cities over the next few months (ranging from Nashville, Tampa, and Dallas), as well as a limited engagement at the Cutler Majestic Theater in Boston, from December 2-4, 2011.\u00a0 You can find out more about the play, as well as ticketing information, on their website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Freud’s Last Session<\/strong><\/p>\n

Freud’s Last Session <\/em>is based on the hypothetical that C.S. Lewis and Sigmund Freud may have met in England, shortly before Freud’s death.\u00a0 The play is inspired by Armand Nicholi’s bestselling book The Question of God. <\/em>In the play, Lewis and Freud go toe-to-toe on all the major issues surrounding faith, religion, secularism, philosophy, and the like, drawing (through Nicholi) on all the major works of both men.\u00a0 It has received tremendously high praise from diverse critics, and is currently the longest-running play off Broadway.\u00a0 Now, the play will be featured in a regional premier in Amarillo, Texas, at the Amarillo Little Theatre, from August 18-28<\/a>.<\/p>\n
