Lewis very much.\u00a0 A compilation of her writings, entitled <em>Ayn<\/em><i> Rand\u2019s Marginalia: Her critical comments on the writings of over 20 authors, <\/i>includes her comments and criticisms of other writers, including Lewis<em>\u00a0<\/em>and his popular book on ethics,\u00a0<em>The Abolition of Man<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>First Things Magazine<\/em> has reprinted the excerpts <a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstthings.com\/blogs\/firstthoughts\/2013\/03\/27\/ayn-rand-really-really-hated-c-s-lewis\/\" target=\"_blank\">on their blog, First Thoughts<\/a>.\u00a0 Rand&#8217;s condemnation of Lewis ranges from casual dismissal to bursts of vitriol.\u00a0 Readers are forewarned that most of the comments are insults directed at passages or Lewis himself, including calling him a &#8220;monstrosity,&#8221; &#8220;an old fool,&#8221; and a &#8220;cheap, driveling non-entity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lewis probably would not have approved of the level of venom, but he probably would not have liked Rand&#8217;s philosophy much either.\u00a0 The interesting thing is that Lewis tends to provoke strong emotions in the people who read him&#8211;whether in admiration or condemnation.\u00a0 What is it about Lewis that prompts such reactions?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ayn Rand, the famous proponent of Objectivism, apparently did not like C.S.
