\"cs-lewis\"<\/a>Lancia Smith, long-time friend and supporter of the C.S. Lewis Foundation (as well as speaker at many of our events), has recently published an article on her blog<\/a> about the upcoming commemoration of C.S. Lewis in Poets’ Corner at Westminster Abbey. \u00a0It took many years for the memorial to materialize, but finally on November 22, 2013 (fifty years after his death), Lewis will be immortalized in one of the most famous churches in the world.<\/p>\n

Smith interviews Malcolm Guite, Alister McGrath, and Stan Mattson (president of the C.S. Lewis Foundation), about the history and the upcoming plans for this event. \u00a0Michael Ward also adds information on registration instructions.<\/p>\n

According to Dr. Mattson, overtures were made to have Lewis installed in Poet’s Corner as early as 2002, but the Abbey determined that “there was not a sufficient body of poetry to justify the installation of Lewis in Poets\u2019 Corner.” \u00a0However, things changed in 2013, and this time the Abbey itself was behind the inspiration to bring Lewis to the famous section devoted to literary greats.<\/p>\n
