Lewis\u2019 death upon us, many people have developed a renewed interest in Lewis. The anniversary of his death hit many mainstream media outlets, where writers took a deeper look into Lewis\u2019 life and works.\u00a0 Whether an overview his life, or a deep investigation into his works and ongoing legacy, there is lot of buzz around the web concerning Jack.<\/p>\n<p>Lewis is probably most well-known for <i>The Chronicles of Narnia<\/i>, which continues to entertain and inspire people both young and old.\u00a0 Despite its popularity, many readers do not know the origins of Lewis\u2019s most beloved series. In his article titled \u201cWhy Did C.S. Lewis Write <i>The Chronicles of Narnia<\/i>?\u201d Rowan Williams tackles this issue and highlights what was happening in Lewis\u2019 life during the time of creating <i>The Chronicles of Narnia,<\/i> as well as some of the possible things that inspired his Narnian world.\u00a0 To read the article, please <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newstatesman.com\/cultural-capital\/2013\/12\/why-did-c-s-lewis-write-chronicles-narnia\" target=\"_blank\">click here<\/a>.<!--more--><!--more--><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not only the media that has been writing about Lewis, but also students in elementary schools.<!--more--><!--more--> Recently in Michigan a class\u00a0of 5<sup>th<\/sup> graders read <i>The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe<\/i> and then \u201cwrote a piece on a specific prompt using their imagination or personal experience.\u201d Be sure to check out their creative and humorous stories for yourself by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.petoskeynews.com\/news\/community\/petoskey-fifth-graders-celebrate-joy-of-writing\/article_25045cce-5cfb-11e3-81a2-001a4bcf6878.html\" target=\"_blank\">clicking here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Although Lewis\u2019s <i>Narnia<\/i> series made him a household name in the world of children\u2019s literature, Lewis is also a well-known writer of Christian apologetics.\u00a0 Many of his works, including <i>Mere Christianity <\/i>and <i>The Problem of Pain,<\/i> are still used both academically and within the Church.\u00a0 Friend of the Foundation and noted scholar Dr. Michael Ward recently released<a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianitytoday.com\/ct\/2013\/november\/cs-lewis-better-apologetics.html?paging=off\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0an article<\/a> appearing in\u00a0<i>Christianity Today<\/i> where he discusses the importance \u00a0of Christian apologetics, as well as what readers can learn of this subject from Lewis\u2019 own writings.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, don&#8217;t forget that our third and final conference that continues in the 50th Anniversary Celebration of C.S. Lewis will take place July 21-31, 2014 in both Oxford and Cambridge, UK.
