As I drove up into the Banning Pass between the San Jacinto and San Bernardino Mountains, a storm cell was in full fury. There were several eighteen wheelers overturned blocking the east bound Interstate 10. Wind gusts were rocking my SUV.The rain was blowing horizontally. I could see a sand storm whipping up between the road and the base of the mountains. Low clouds were swirling around the freeway.
