Thank you for your interest in booking a live, online tour of “The Kilns” for your group!

The tour of The Kilns, Lewis’s beloved home in Oxford, England, takes place on Zoom as a live webinar with the Director of the Study Centre at The Kilns. We will take you through six rooms, with information and anecdotes about C.S. Lewis and his family and household. Learn more about the man behind The Chronicles of Narnia, Mere Christianity, and The Screwtape Letters, among many others.

Please read below for details and contact to set up a tour.

We have two options for registration:

For individuals registering on their own: $11 a person, with a ten person minimum. The tour lasts about 45 minutes.

We would set up the registration system and link and accept direct payment. This option is for the tour only, without a question & answer session afterwards.

A 15-20 minute Q&A session can be added on for an additional $5 a person. With the individual registration option, there will be an included registration choice for individuals to be able to make an optional donation to support The Kilns.

For groups registering and paying in a single group payment, we offer flat rate tiers based on the size of the group.

For groups over 20, this will include a staff member running tech support and helping monitor the Q&A during the call. Please note that during the Q&A session, our tour guide may include a link in the chat to donate to support the work of the C.S. Lewis Foundation at The Kilns.

  • 1-20 people: $100 total. This is the minimum and we’d require $100 as the deposit 14 days prior to the scheduled date. This option will not include a CSLF staff member running tech support or monitoring Q&A features. This is for a tour only without Q&A. The tour lasts about 40-45 minutes. A 15-25 minute Q&A session can be added for an additional $50 and includes our tech support staff member.
  • 21-50 people: $250 total. The session lasts approximately 60 minutes
  • 51-75 people: $375 total. The session lasts approximately 65 minutes
  • If larger than 75, please contact us about options.

Some additional notes and policies:

Tour style/features: There will be time for a 3-5 minute address from your group leader to your group at the beginning and end of the tour. The software will be Zoom webinar style, which will allow for interactive Q&A and chat features, enabled if you desire. Only the tour guide(s), a possible additional C.S. Lewis Foundation representative, and your group leader will be on-screen and/or audible during the session.

Recording: Because the tour is offered to your group specifically and because tours are part of our funding efforts for The Kilns as a nonprofit organization, we will not record or allow recordings of the session, which we consider exclusive and copyrighted material. We thank you for your understanding.

Donations: The C.S. Lewis Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization in the U.S. and a registered charity in the U.K. We are not affiliated with or receive any funding from the C.S. Lewis Company, Ltd. (the estate of C.S. Lewis) and primarily operate through the generosity of individual donors and program/event payments.

Your tour contributes to the operation, programs, and maintenance of the C.S. Lewis Study Centre at The Kilns.
