After ten years of truly outstanding service, Jill Fort, our beloved Faculty Forum Coordinator, has retired with her husband, Tom, to their new home in Baja California, Mexico. There can be no doubt but that she will be greatly missed by all who came to know and love her over the course of this past decade.

At a luncheon with members of the Foundation staff and trustees, she was presented with the Foundation’s “Distinguished Service Award,” which read:

Presented to Jill Ann Fort

In recognition of your extraordinary contribution to every aspect of our mission within the realm of higher education and beyond.

These have been years (1999-2009) full of daunting challenges, highlighted by dramatic breakthroughs, throughout which we have shared in the privilege of experiencing the love and power of Christ expressed in ways we never could have imagined. In the course of our journey together, you have brought great joy, inspiration and encouragement to us all – students, faculty, alumni, interns, trustees, benefactors, and, above all, your fellow staff.

To all, and in all, you have labored indefatigably, ministering with consistent insight, wisdom, grace, creativity, patience, and humility, combined with a ready laugh, to the end that all might realize more fully the call to embrace our loving Lord with heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Given on the occasion of your imminent departure for the next phase of your life “South of the Border.”

We miss you, Jill, and wish you God’s blessing on the next phase of your journey!

    Jill,
I remember vividly our first meeting at the Faculty Forum at UCLA. Your kindness to me turned into friendship and I will cherish it always. Thank you for being such a gracious and caring person. God bless you greatly in your retirement.

    Jill,
I’m sorry I didn’t check the web-site sooner to see this “news.” I appreciate so much your hard work, diligence, dedication, encouragement, and support. You are such a steady “rock” and someone we all have relied on. You will be so missed–but I hope you still plan to be at Oxbridge! I pray the Lord will richly bless you, your family, and new ministry as you have blessed us.
    In His Love,
    Melanie
PS The Lord willing and helping me, I will earn my MA in English Lit this May :)
