Oxford

Oxford, ‘that sweet City with her dreaming spires’, is a jewel in the heritage of Great Britain and one of the most famous cities in Europe. Since AD 1200 it has been the home of Britain’s oldest University and, over the course of eight centuries, the founding of 39 official Colleges of the University and the seven Permanent Private Halls has established Oxford as a unique city of fine buildings and magnificent architecture.

Whether it’s the University’s Bodleian Library, Radcliffe Camera, Sheldonian Theatre, University Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Examination Schools or the colleges, their chapels and gardens themselves, history and beauty come together here in remarkable and breathtaking ways. History abounds at Carfax Tower , Cornmarket and the Ashmolean Museum . And nature is to be reveled in the parks, meadows, and Botanic Garden.

Oxford is also a modern city bursting with restaurants, cafes and pubs. It is a city of culture with year-round theatre, music, film, exhibitions and festivals. It is a central city, within easy reach of the beautiful Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon , Blenheim Palace at Woodstock and London - all ideal for day excursions
