Not able to attend in-person this year?

Join us instead for the live-stream! You can attend from your own home and either watch as it happens or watch the recordings. Either way, you will have exclusive access to the recorded videos for 90 days after the conference ends.

Register for the live streaming option and you will...

Be able to virtually attend (or watch later) 21 sessions of the C.S. Lewis Retreat while they are happening. The sessions we plan to stream include:
- 10 keynote lectures by our invited speakers
- 8 artistic performances from our conference musicians, poets, singers, choir, actors, and dancers.
- 2 sermons and 6 scripture meditations from our conference clergy.
Have access to the Whova app/software during the entire event to watch the live and recorded sessions and to engage with other at home viewers.
Have access to the video recordings for three months after the event.
Be able to invite your friends or family to watch with you during or after on the same screen.

Technical Requirements

You must have internet access and a computer or smartphone with a speaker (microphone not required). We will be using the Whova website and phone app (Apple and Android compatible). It’ll have an agenda listing where you can simply click on the link for each session to watch it live.

Common Questions About Access, Timing, and Participation

What will I miss by not attending in-person?

Great question. Of course you’ll miss the in-person company of our community and the meals. Beyond that, in-person attendees will exclusively be able to:

Attend any of the 10 afternoon seminars.
Attend the optional evening activity, Bag-End Cafe.
Participate in worship and prayer sessions
Attend the opening and closing receptions at Belfast City Hall and the Titanic Museum.
Participate in the hymn sing at C.S. Lewis’s family church, St. Mark’s Dundela
Participate in optional activities like tours of Northern Ireland
Watch an episode of Eastgate Creative’s documentary on C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, “The Forge of Friendship”
Walk through, dine in, and explore in-person the city of Belfast
Begin and deepen friendships at the event
Have conversations with the conference speakers
Participate in the volunteer choir

What is the time zone for the event?

Since we will be in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the conference will take place in British Summer Time. The conference app will have a feature you can use to translate the times to your local time zone.

What if i miss a session? Can I watch it right afterwards?

Because we’ll be streaming live as-it-happens, it will take our tech team a very short amount of time to format and transfer each session. Generally, this is a pretty quick process. Sometimes it is posted immediately after it happens. Other times, there will be a short delay.

However, you will have access to the videos also for three months after the conference ends, so you will have plenty of time to watch the sessions if you missed any, as well as rewatch with friends or family.

NOTE: you can’t share the links with others, but you can rewatch with your own personal, individual login.

Will I be on camera during the sessions?

Because of the nature of streaming the event at the same time we are hosting it live, you’ll primarily be participating by watching the sessions as they happen rather than being on camera yourself. You’ll be able to interact by commenting in chat or commenting on message boards. So feel free to wear your pajamas, eat meals, and have a cup of your favorite beverage as you watch!
